Why use On Deck Systems for your Website? Your website is an important marketing tool, perhaps the most important. Your website reflects your brand image, and sometimes image is everything. Your site should be easy to navigate, easy on the eyes, and easy to understand. The manner in which you organize and present information, be it graphics or text, goes a long way in conveying the professionalism of your brand. Graphic design is important for many reasons ranging from practical to aesthetic. Our designers can develop the right look and feel for your site. The appearance of your web site is the face of your presence on the web. Sounds simple, but many do not understand the importance of instinctive, easy-to-use site navigation. Potential customers aren’t going to waste their time trying to figure out how to navigate your site. If it isn’t immediately graspable, they’re moving on to your competitors. It’s the nature of our fast-paced modern world. A poorly developed interface will drive them away.

Information Architecture
Information Architecture consists of two elements, construction of a Sitemap and Wireframes.
Sitemap
The sitemap is how all of the individual pages of your site link to one another. Think of it as a flowchart. It is important to have a logical and easy-to-navigate website. Otherwise potential customers will get frustrated, and they won’t waste their time trying to figure out where they’re supposed to go to find what they need. If a user gets lost on your site, they’ll be lost to you. A good sitemap offers multiple information flows that will result in more conversions.
Wireframes
A wireframe is like a blueprint. It serves as a visual guide to the proposed individual pages, and how they link with one another. The wireframe is a very basic skeletal outline of you website, it expresses what each page’s functionality will be; it does not show the graphical design. The purpose of Wireframes is to decide what the site will look like before production begins. This will allow us to build the site to meet your expectations. Wireframes are also useful in establishing nomenclature. Proper nomenclature is important to the structure of your site and encourages users to take paths to site areas you want them to see. The wireframe is all about organizing your site’s content and information in a manner that your users will find easy-to-understand, informative, and compelling.
Enhanced User Experience
Enhanced User Experience is the key to any online project. How will users interact with the website to get the information they’re looking for most efficiently? What are the different ways a user might search for that information? The goal of our web developers is to understand all we can about your customers and create solutions to these problems using simple to understand navigation elements and different search and browsing capabilities.
Search Engine Optimization
Website optimization should be one of the primary focuses when designing any site. When building a website we always have an eye towards how we can increase its ranking on the major search engines. We do this by focusing on:
- Search engine friendly URLs
- Improving the ranking of each individual page for their respective keywords
- Keyword planning
- Keeping up-to-date on and understanding the ever-changing search algorithms used by Google, Yahoo, etc.
- Constant monitoring of search engine placements and adjusting accordingly
